Interview

Would you believe if I say that I had a great, fun filled interview? As in.. fun filled environment in a Toastmasters meeting!!!! Well, it is true!!

My interview had a Table Topic Session and he gave me 2 minutes for the topic Fasting!!!

Isn't that GREAT!!! Toastmasters has gone into the Interview room...!!!

At the end of the interview one of the panel actually asked me how I can relate Toastmasters to Sales.. and guess what!!! my own answer was a surprise to me...! Oh my!!! For a first time in my life.... I had a great session at a Job Interview... The atmosphere was GREAT! The synergy was Awesome! The people was GREAT and most of all... Toastmasters is BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Stir the Dust

"You came, stirred my life and left!!!" That was exactly what my ex once told me.. At that time, I was not sure what it meant. In fact, I used to wonder, which part of his life did I stirred.. hehehehe...

Today, I can feel that I am stirring so much dust.. so much, that I often fall back in keeping on blowing them.. yup, blowing... In this past 17 months, I have been stirring so much dust, it had made not only my life spiced up, but my bosses too.. I can see that from some one who was on a plato mood... he is alive now.. full of spirit.. full of energy.

Today, he really surprised when he came and told me that amendment to policy will be made. I was so happy to see that. .coz, if it was him 17 months ago, he would have simply brushed it under the carpet and told me that nothing can be done and moved on with life.

So, stirring up dust... is definitely good.. it wakes people up, get stirred and be more productive. Life is great!!! Let's start stirring... :)

It ended... Goodbye Term 2010/2011.....

Finishing a one year term as one of the Area Governor in District 51 had taught me so much. It was never in my faintest idea that I have ever thought it would be such a challenging time. Was it rewarding? Of course!!! In fact, this was the first time, I've ever learned so much without opening a book or even sitting for an exam.... :)

It was indeed a beautiful journey; full of excitement, happiness, sadness, and most of all satisfaction. Satisfaction seeing those around you, growing to be a better person, not only as a communicator, but also as a leader.

In a voluntary organization where there is no monetary reward promised, it promises a transformation of oneself, not only to be a better speaker, but also a leader that will be loved by everyone free of charge. It enlightens one on the importance of empathy, the importance of trust, the importance of integrity and the best of all it teaches us to believe in our self and move forward. Move forward.... and flip the page.... because time is crucial.

Today, I end this term not only with more friends in my circle, but also with a huge pot of experience and knowledge on managing people, which, no one can every buy form a book store. It was like an pot of porridge, it only feeds more hungry stomach when more water is added to it.

Today, I end this term passing not to one but three other Area Governors who will be taking over the clubs whom I have managed and sustained. I am very sure, these new team will take these clubs to a new greater heights.... cherishing and enriching more souls...

Goodbye, Goodbye 2010/2011............ You will always be in my heart.......

Honesty, Integrity and Respect for Individual

It was not long ago where I attended the District's Officers Training for all the newly elected Executive Council Members. There, they were talking about the core values of Toastmasters...... amongst them are Honesty, Integrity and Respect for Individual.

Now, I wonder, how many of us really apply and practice them. Is it just me or is it a true fact.. that everyone who appears to be seen working in a team are doing so, so that they can benefit something from it.

It is so sad.. why don't they work for their own success rather than hoping to achieve what they want to achieve at others' cost??? What happened to Honesty? Integrity? For Allah's sake, Self Conscious?

Or is this the signs of the world is coming to an end.... :(

A New Born....

Remember the feeling when you attempted your first ice breaker speech? :) Well, there are some of us who repeat the process... like my other half... hehehehe :) So, I must be specific, your first ice breaker speech......

Of course, in the beginning, you will have all the butterflies flying everywhere, not only in your stomach... all around you. But when you complete that first speech... it comes... the feeling... of flying high up in the clouds, like a tweety bird... or was it like an eagle! Wow!!! The feedback that u receive and the applauds that you get!!! another Wow!!! Will take you right into the stars!! to be the next shooting star!!! At that time, that was the best thing that ever happened to you.

That same feeling! That same joy! That same greatness! is what I feel today. Being a single lady, I never knew how it feels to give birth to a new born. At my age, I don't think that will ever be possible. But now, I feel it.. I really feel it, with the born of a new club... AMD Toastmasters Club.

It is a great feeling.. And now... m going to see AMD Toastmasters Club growing... from its infancy hopefully.. growing to achieve greatness and touch peoples life... not one, not two but many more... :)

Kota Kinabalu in 1992 and today... wow!!! so much of changes... We used to hang out at Centre Point every time we were off... Pizza Hut with free pepsi, chilli powder.. you name it.. we will get it... without much fuss... But today, when I pass by Pizza Hut at Centre Point, the feeling is different. It is no longer the same... the whole walk place has been converted to food stalls. The area is swamped with tables and chairs for the patrons to sit and enjoy the delicacies...

But then, it is never the same anymore....

Moments and Memories

It was not before the meeting in one of the Toastmasters Club in Klang Valley did I realize that one need to appreciate the moments that they have today and live it to the fullest so that you will have the memories that you will cherish.

I've started since then to create memories more and more day after day with the moments that I have in hand. In creating that memories, I've intended to share them with all those of you who treasures and cherishes every moment of their life in creating their own memories.

In my blog, I intend to share that moments and memories that will make me that better person and leader I wish to be. I will be sharing post on various moments spent with family, friends and foe. Simply because... I enjoy what I do... :)
